Avis's Story...
My name is Avis and I am one gorgeous beast of a boy! I am a Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever mix, about 4 years old. I have to tell you, before Adopt A Golden Knoxville saved me from a Kentucky shelter, life was grim. I was a good 20 pounds underweight and my body was full of scabies. But now I am healthy, at a good weight and a very happy boy. I love other dogs and I love to be petted. I am house trained and I will do ok in a crate. I probably need to go to a home with children over 12 years of age because I don't like being restrained. It scares me and reminds me of my horrible past. I love my toys, my bed and my two foster moms - and they take good care of me but I need to find my forever home. Is that you?

Avis, a Brattleboro Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
