Mon Ami's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, a special needs pet, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mon Ami's Story...
May I present..beautiful 6 year young Mon Ami... Mon Ami is the most sweet, gentle, loving boy I have come across in a long time.
Mon Ami is blind and suffers from epilepsy as a result of horrific abuse and trauma to the head when he was merely a pup. The epilepsy is controlled by very expensive medication everyday. Despite being blind the vet believes he may be able to see shadows out of one eye.

. Although Mon Ami broke his two front legs in Jan 2005, through kind donations and four months sleeping on the floor with him, his legs have healed 100% He now runs around like any other dog.

His story inspired so many he won the "cover boy" spot for the International Canine-Epilepsy Calandar for 2006! We are so proud of you Ami for this and so many other reasons!

UPDATE JAN 2006 Ami is no longer available for adoption. He now experiences "cluster seizures" and for most it is unbearable to watch, in addition to being very expensive to control. His seizures are better controlled since adding Keppra(total medication costs for a month is $400.00..we believe in quality of life, which he has..and do NOT put a pricetag on life. He is now a permanent Sanctuary resident. Please contact us if you would like to help us with his on-going costs..

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mon Ami, a Curran Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Curran, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Curran.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Curran already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Curran breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Curran paves the way for another one to be saved.
