Duchess's Story...
Duchess is a five month old mantle female with natural ears. My name is Duchess and I am definitely the queen of my castle. All of my loyal subjects 'siblings' ask me to play with them. I am eager to find my own forever home so I can start to take on my role as ‘Duchess' and win you over with my love and fun loving antics. I have not been spayed and this will be part of my contract for my adoptive family to take care of (spay deposit will be collected at the time of adoption), but I am ready to go just as soon as my family meets me!

Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League can only adopt within its incorporated area (eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, WV, MD, and VA). For more information on our adoption policies please visit our website: To adopt a Great Dane under 2 you must have traditional fencing (no electronic fences permitted). For Danes over 2, please see our website for fencing policies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duchess, a York Great Dane puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in York, or seeking a Great Dane puppy from a breeder in York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in York paves the way for another one to be saved.
