My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Maybe" is a 4-yo spayed female GSD/Australian Shepherd mix who is a sweet, loving, playful dog. She is very friendly with people, including children. She is a good watchdog, too, quick to alarm-bark when there is somebody approaching the house. Maybe was great with her owner's former male dog (a Lab), but does not get along w/ the female Pit Bull that her owners got as a puppy. She'd likley be fine with another male dog. Maybe is great with cats, and p resently lives with a few.

Maybe is housetrained and perfectly behaved inside. She just adores attention and loves to sit with her head in her owners' laps while they pet her. Maybe loves to play fetch, and will do so for as long as you can throw the ball. She would make a great hiking buddy, too. The former adopter who evaluated Maybe for GSRSV said that she's a "wonderful dog."

Maybe's owners adopted her as an eight-wk old puppy from a rescue group in Las Vegas. In 2011, they got a female Pit Bull puppy for Maybe to play with. At first, Maybe and the puppy would play all day long. However, after their male Lab passed on, Maybe began to act aggressively towards the Pit Bull, and eventually they had to keep them separated full-time, which is still the case today. Knowing that it would extremely difficult to find a new home for their Pit Bull, Maybe's owners have reluctantly decided to try to find her a new home. Maybe is located in Martinez.

A former GSRSV adopter evaluated Maybe, and GSRSV is placing her as a "Program Dog." This means that GSRSV is seeking a new home for Maybe through its adoption program while her owner continues to care for her. Maybe's adoption fee is $200.
