My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3/8/14 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $300

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 7 years

Weight: 6.2 lbs.

12/22/13 - Buttons is now taking his Atopica medicine every 3rd day and has been doing so for about 2 months now and has not had any flare-ups. This means he basically takes 10 pills a month now.

He’s been in his foster home about 3 months now and has proven to be pretty independent. He does his own thing a lot, but will still follow you and be where the action is. He does love attention, but doesn’t demand it. If you sit down and pick him up and put him in your lap, he loves that and will just sit there being petted. He also loves to be held and loved on.

He loves his squeaky toys. The foster family has grown a little since he arrived and now there are three others pups in the home. Buttons still doesn’t “play” with any of them, but does fine with all of them and can co-exist with other dogs great.

He is a very easy pup to own and love and we think someone will be very lucky to share a home with him.

9/21/13 - Seems my identity was stolen. I hear that there is another pup on this Yorkie Haven Rescue site claiming to be the most handsome, most loveable and sweetest pup around. Well, sorry for that dog, but that description is “ME”.

Hi, my name is Buttons, you know, like cute as a Button. I was surrendered to Yorkie Haven Rescue because mom and dad had another baby, the two-legged kind, and I wasn’t too keen on the little tyke. I want to be the baby. I was the baby. Anyway, I’ve been in my foster home for only a week and a half now and I have adjusting incredibly. I love sleeping in bed with foster mom. She has a bench where I can get up and down on the bed anytime I want and sometimes during the day when I need a little cat nap, I’ll just go in the bedroom on my own and get in the bed. Foster mom says it’s the cutest thing.

I do seem to have environmental allergies and for this I take the allergy medicine Atopica. I have been on it for years now and it seems to do the trick. My skin isn’t red and I’m not itchy like I used to be. I take the Atopica, 10 mg, 1 pill every other day. If you stretch it out more than that, I tend to get symptoms again. I take my medicine great in a pill pocket. You can get Atopica (10 mg) from most all vets, but once I am established at your vet, you can order through drsfosterandsmith.com and it is cheaper that way. They just call the vet to verify that I am on it and it comes right to the door. I’m old hat at this and very happy now that my allergies are good. Foster mom says that my every other day routine averages out to 15 pills a month. There are 15 pills in a box and through the online place, they run @ $23 per box. Way cheaper than most monthly upkeeps. And again, I’m totally worth it.

I like to play with toys, I truly on have one main favroite right now, but if you throw it, I’ll go get it and bring it back. I just adore those belly rubs. I like kisses on the side of my face, but not much of a kisser myself. Never was taught that I could kiss humans. I each very well and even though I have some mistakes inside, will use the bathroom when brought out.

I love to explore outside, especially since foster mom’s backyard has alot of squirrels and birds. I’m trying to befriend them. No luck so far. But there is a very laid back Shih-tzu in the home and he and I get along fine. We haven’t played, but co-exist fine. They said they are going to try me around more active dogs to see if I would like to go to a forever home that has other playful dogs, or one like the Shih-tzu, that just doesn’t care if the sun doesn’t shine.

I am an angel with a bath and blow drying. I’m just a little angel all around. I love to be talked to and will let you carry me around like a baby all day if you would like. Since my last home had the “small children” thing, I will need a home without them. Like I said, I’d like to be the baby please. And my foster mom has said that I will get whatever home I want. I like this lady.

See ya! Buttons!
