The puppy mill mommies have arrived! Meet adorable Nymph, a TINY ~6 year old yorkie who spent her entire life in cage churning out litter after litter of puppies to be sold in pet shops and boutiques across the country. She is understandably timid but sweet natured and will be looking for a calmer adult home with another friendly dog to help her adjust. Please submit an application if you are interested.
9/14/13- We will be welcoming approximately 10 little girls being rescued after spending their entire lives in cages in puppy mills breeding puppies to be sold to pet stores around the country. These dogs are generally adults age 4-6 and are timid but sweet-natured and LOVE other dogs. They will be looking for calmer adult homes with another friendly dog to help them feel comfortable and learn to enjoy life in a real home. Everything is new to them- these dogs have never had names, walked on a leash, or been loved but they blossom into wonderful companions with some patience and time. We also have Jedi, Jalapeno, and Henrietta who were rescued from puppy mills several months ago and are still patiently waiting to find their forever homes...
The puppy mill rescues are a huge financial strain for us- they usually come to us filthy, matted, suffering from ear, skin, and dental infections and needing to be altered and sometimes have other surgeries to prepare them for adoption. Most importantly, please remember to NEVER BUY A PUPPY FROM ANY PET STORE OR BOUTIQUE. No matter what they may claim, no reputable breeder would ever allow their dogs to be sold in a store and all their puppies come from mill or other unscrupulous breeders. Even if you are lucky enough to purchase a happy healthy puppy in a store, the money you pay is going directly to support the imprisonment and physical and psychological neglect of their moms and dads. DON'T SHOP, ADOPT!
