My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

October 1, 2013:
It turns out that Charlotte actually belongs to someone and she has been separated from her lady for almost a year.

Here is her story:
For those of you who may not have heard yet, Charlotte is really Ava!!!!

Each kitty that comes to us as a rescue is scanned for a microchip. That was true of Charlotte as well; however, her initial scan didn't show anything (maybe because she was so pregnant when we got her). After her spay yesterday, we decided to give her one more scan before we microchipped her, and low and behold, she already had a microchip! And.... we tracked down her mommy!

So, Charlotte is really Ava! Here's her heart-warming lost and found story:

Last October (yes, I said LAST October), Ava's mom was having problems getting her apartment door to close properly, even though she had contacted the apartment manager several times. One night the door came open without her knowing, and Ava and another kitty got lose. Naturally Ava's mom was frantic when she discovered this! She looked and looked and was able to find the other kitty, but couldn't find Ava anywhere! She left out food, put up posters, but still couldn't find Ava. Two weeks later, broken hearted, she had to move to Phoenix, Arizona without Ava. As soon as Ava's mom got a new phone number, she updated Ava's information in the Avid FriendChip database, hoping someone would find her. Months passed, and Ava's mom just prayed that she had found a good home and someone was loving her as she deserved.

Meanwhile, this little black and white kitty was living on the streets, eating out of dumpsters and the kindness of whatever people she crossed. In July, this little black and white kitty came to the attention of a client of Catisfaction Cat Clinic. She was emaciated and pregnant. The client contacted Dr. Stephanie Gandy, and brought her into the clinic. The staff at Catisfaction named her Charlotte after Dr. Gandy's home town, and she gave birth two weeks later to the cutest kittens ever!

Two months later, Charlotte is really Ava! When Catisfaction's practice manager, Jen, called Ava's mom, she was SHOCKED, but ecstatic that Ava had been found. She explained that when Ava went missing, she was just one week away from her spay appointment! And coincidence of all coincidences, she is coming to town in a few weeks for a friend's wedding! She plans on flying back home with Ava in tow!

The moral of the story? Have your cats microchipped! It can mean the difference of just hoping your beloved kitty is found, or is being taken care of by another loving person, and actually being found and reunited with you! Catisfaction offers the Avid FriendChip system for just $45! It is definitely worth the peace of mind!

The End.

Charlotte ~

Miss Charlotte is guesstimated to be between 1-2 years old (as of September 2013) ~ she has a beautiful litter of kittens she is tending to right now, but when her motherly duties are done, she would love a forever home of her own too. She will be spayed, microchipped and given her shots. She has already tested negative for FeLeuk and FIV : ) All of her babies have been spoken for.

She is a wonderful and patient Momma...teaching her babies good manners, toilet training, and how to strike cute poses They are excellent students!! As her babies need her less and less, Charlotte is blossoming into a wonderful lady of her own. Playing, petting, lounging in the sun...wanting to be a part of all the action. She just wants to belong to someone and be safe in an indoor home, never to struggle outside again.

Charlotte came to the clinic very pregnant, from a local apartment community; you might call her a community cat. What does that mean, you ask? Community cats are cats that are left to take care of themselves…they can be feral or domestic, sweet or scared, trusting or not. In Charlotte's case, she trusted people and came to them when she needed the most help. Thank goodness she was able to have her babies in a safe environment and not outside under someone's car.

She LOVES to love! She is looking for her forever home where she will never have to fend for herself again! She will show you how grateful she is if you are willing to open your heart and home to her. She is an extremely loving and sweet cat.
