My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Not all superheroes come with spandex and cheezy one-liners. Some of them come with fur!
Kona is one such hero. He saved his momma from a bad situation, and got pretty hurt doing it. His mom rushed him to a local vet, who directed her to ADPR. We were happy to swoop in and play the sidekick for this brave guy.
After recovering enough to leave the vet's office, Kona came to stay at ADPR HQ. It took a while for him to get his strength back, but we are happy to report that he is finally ready to go to a new family!

So now it's your turn to be the hero. Kona needs a special kind of home. Despite being a lover, he doesn't get along with other dogs. He loves women, and gets along with men once he's had an opportunity to get used to them, but dogs are just a deal breaker for him. He hasn't really been around kids, but it's hard to imagine him having any problem with them. He has no food/treat/toy aggression issues, and is tolerant of having his ears tugged on, feet played with, etc. The only problem I could forsee is him accidentally knocking a small child over.

Kona is house trained, and kennel trained. He knows all his basic commands (sit, stay, etc.), and is very food motivated, so learning new tricks is a breeze. He has been going through clicker and Behavioral Adjustment training, and is doing very well. Whoever adopts him will have an invitation to free training classes!
