My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees and Lab mix. She has the best qualities of each of the breeds. The Great Pyrenees is a capable and imposing guardian, devoted to their family and somewhat wary of strangers, human or canine. Daisy is calm, well-mannered and somewhat serious. She is very gentle with her family and with children. She has an independent, somewhat stubborn, nature and may try to dominate a less secure handler. Daisy will need an experienced large breed handler so she knows that she is not the boss. Daisy is amazing with children and loves them so much! She was living in a family with children when she was owner surrendered due to testing positive for heartworm. Lucky Lab Rescue pulled her from the shelter and successfully treated Daisy for heartworm. She was devastated to lose her family, but is now happy and healthy in her foster home. Daisy has the wiggly body of a happy Lab. She loves to be praised and does many things to deserve these nice words. She sits nicely for a treat and is very gentle when taking the treat. Daisy has wonderful house manners and is house trained. She does not need to be crated. Like many of us, Daisy needs to lose about 15 more pounds, with an ideal weight of 125 pounds. She looks forward to her walks with enthusiasm. Large breeds are not capable of being a running companion, but do well with fast walkers. Daisy would love to be the only dog in the house, but tolerates other dogs in the neighborhood well. Her primary interest is "her human children". Daisy notices the cats in her foster home, but does not pursue them. Daisy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, HW free and micro-chipped. She has been on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. If your family is looking for a large breed companion, please fill out an application and write Daisy in the notes area
