Fostered in Texas

Weight: 9 lbs.

Age: 2 years

9/25/13 - Look deep into my eyes. You are getting very sleepy.... very sleepy. Now, when I snap my fingers, you will awaken with a strong urge to go to yorkiehavenrescue.com and fill out an application for Dani, the strikingly beautiful Chihuahua on the site in Texas. SNAP! Now we wait for the database of applications to explode the system.

My name is Dani and I am a female Merle Chihuahua. I know you are asking yourself how I got here with all these Yorkshire Terriers. Well, they needed some color to the page and instead of changing the whole format, they just brought in a dog with more striking coloring. LOL No, really. My foster mom pulled me from animal control where I was picked up as a stray. Can you believe that after looking into these gorgeous baby blues, my previous owners weren’t hypnotized into being good dog owners and keeping me safe and out of harm’s way. Well, foster mom knew that Yorkie Haven was where I needed to be to make sure that I found my next permanent home and never be left again, so she pulled me and listed me here.

My nickname is mountain goat, since I love high places and can get just about anywhere when I set my mind to it. No leaving scraps on the table around this smarty pants. I’m doing fine in my foster home and play with the other foster, but can get territorial at times around my things, so would probably do better in a home without an alpha dog. I’m a very friendly little girl that is doing well on her potty training and loves to play with squeaky toys. Foster mom and I go for walks and I do fine on a leash. I love a good lap when it is relaxation/movie time.

I do have a voice about me and don’t mind sharing the bark when I feel it is needed, but am not obsessive with it. I do get a little timid if someone is loud talking. I think this comes from my previous household.... must have been a toxic family life. I’m a well adjusted young lady with confidence (unless people are yelling) and a beautiful coat and eyes.

If you are looking for a great, active companion who also loves to get belly rubs and sit and watch tv, Dani may well be your gal.
