My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 11 years
Gender: Female
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 51 lbs
Variety: Bench

Coco is a sweet senior girl that would make a great companion. Her owners surrendered her when they had to move and couldn't take her along. Despite her age, Coco is able to walk a couple of miles without any problem, and she does well on a leash. Since Coco is a senior, she qualifies for the Senior for a Senior program. Ask us about it.

Coco is partially deaf and also has "partial selective hearing loss," but she does come when you call her, as long as she can hear you. She is has been completely vet checked and is in good health, except for a slight incontinence problem. The vet has prescribed Proin to control it.

She gets along well with other dogs, but she lets them know when they are getting into her space. She would also do well as the only dog in her Forever Home. Coco prefers being with people and has some anxiety when left alone. Her ideal home would have someone around most of the time.

Coco is crate trained, but she seems to get stressed in the kennel. Luckily, she can be trusted to be left out at all times. She doesn't chew on anything she shouldn't, she is not a counter surfer, and she is housetrained to go to the door when she has to potty. She seems to have some anxiety when riding in the car, but as she has always been kenneled for car rides, she may be reacting to the kennel rather than to the car. She is a beggar at the table, but this is not a big problem because she will lie down if she doesn't get any food.

Although she would prefer to sleep on the bed, the couch, or a soft, comfy chair, Coco doesn't get to do that at her foster home and is satisfied as long as she can sleep near her humans.

Coco is looking for the perfect retirement home. Could it be yours? You can give this dear girl the best years of her life. All she really wants is someone to love and care for her. She will return your attention and affection many times over, and the time you spend together will be so rewarding!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Coco.
