My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Georgia is a brown and white (with freckles!) border collie mix. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date with all shots and vet visits. She is almost 5 years old, weighs 48lbs, and is completely house trained. Her current owner adopted her when she was about 6 months old and has worked with her constantly to help her be more confident and outgoing around people. She is still shy at first but has really warmed up to all her friends, roommates, and family, although she is wary of small children (so no homes with kids under 12ish). She loves most other dogs and has lived with both dogs and cats, and at times has been the only pet. A fenced in yard is not necessary (she has lived in an apartment/townhouse) but she needs to be walked regularly as she is an active border collie... She LOVES hiking!!! And dog parks!! She is great on a leash and knows all the basic commands. She shows a lot of border collie traits: high energy, herding instincts with people, toys, and especially other dogs, and at times paces in stressful situations (storms especially) but she is also a gentle couch potato when she gets enough exercise. She is a sweet girl who loves belly rubs, snuggling in bed, playing with her toys, and peanut butter! Unfortunately, due to her owner's ongoing medical condition, she has no choice but to re-home Georgia where she would have a more stable environment as right now she is being shuffled between friends and family while her owner is in and out of hospitals. Georgia is currently in Atlanta, GA where her owner is scheduled for more surgery in Oct.

Georgia is not for adoption through YLDR, she is just a courtesy posting. Please contact Rescue Angels or fill out their online adoption application by going to www.rescueangels.org if you are interested in giving this sweet girl a home. Her rehoming fee is $200 plus any necessary transport.
