Kona's Story...
Kona is a 3 year old Blue Merle female. Her previous parents were a military family, but since the husband got out of the military in January, he has not been able to find steady employment. Kona is house-trained and crate trained. Not a big eater as she is a smaller Great Dane. Kona is heartworm negative & will be microchipped when adopted. Super sweet girl that will give chin kisses until you laugh, but she might flea-bite on a occasion 'cuz she gets excited giving kisses. She is great with kids and other dogs. She is LEARNING not to chase cats, but loses her mind every now and then when the cats run by. Listens very well and does walk on a leash or harness. Knows how to sit and shake too. She is being fostered with other dogs & cats, used to live with small dogs & kids too. Kona's adoption fee is $175 which helps cover some her Veterinary costs & allows the rescue to save another animal. If you would like a meet & sniff with this great gal please email us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kona, a Saint Augustine Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Saint Augustine, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Saint Augustine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saint Augustine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saint Augustine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saint Augustine paves the way for another one to be saved.
