UPDATED BIO 10/30/13 Does anyone remember the puppet named Lambchop that Shari Lewis made famous? Well Sweetie reminds us of Lambchop. She has the soft semi-curly hair that is blonde and her face and ears look just like Lamb chop. Sweetie is an 11 year old 6 pound girl who is being fostered in Grapevine, Texas. She is a very sweet little girl. She has had her eardrums removed sometime in the past-probably due to chronic ear infections. She also has a cataract in her left eye. It is amazing that even with her handicaps she still interacts wonderfully. She sees fine out of her other eye and it is not hard to get her attention. She seems to hear loud noises like clapping or other dogs barking, and she is very good to watch for directions about going outside or coming to you. She is housebroken as long as you take her out regularly. She can generally hold it for 3-4 hours and has just recently started using a potty pad. She is such a good girl and is very healthy. She likes to go on walks, but she also likes to just sit on the couch with you or follow you around the house. She would make a great companion for someone who is retired or works from home. She had her teeth cleaned and had some bad teeth removed. She is fully healed and ready for her new home.
Here is what she has to say-Hi my name is Sweetie. I have a new home with several other foster dogs. I like them okay, but I would like to be in a home that is a little calmer. You see I am very gentle and I like nothing better than to snuggle with foster mom or sit on the couch with her. I love my fm and fd and when they come home from work I dance around in circles because I am so glad to see them. I hope someone sees my picture and overlooks my eye and ears. I don't let them hold me back, so neither should anyone else! I am a little disappointed no one has inquired about me, but fm says the right family is out there for me and I just have to give it some time. Maybe you would like a little snuggle bunny like me. I would love to have my own home for the holidays.
Initial Bio 10/5/13 : If ever a name fit a dog, it is Sweetie. She is the sweetest, most gentle little soul. She is 11 years old and weighs 6 pounds. She is being fostered in Grapevine, TX. She was surrendered to animal control by her owner’s family after he was placed in hospice. She is totally deaf as her eardrums have been removed, and she is blind in one eye due to a very advanced cataract. That being said, she is such a joy and still has so much love to give.
She saw the vet and she is very healthy. She has had all her shots and is heartworm negative. She does need to have a dental and will probably need to have a couple of teeth extracted. She is scheduled for that on Thursday, October 10th. After that, she will be looking for her own forever home. She just needs someone to love and care for her in her golden years.
