for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Raydar's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Raydar's Story...
Raydar is a 5-6 year old Norwegian Elkhound. You'll never find a nicer dog. He's good with all people, dogs and cats. And he loves kids. If the teenager and 3 year old at his foster home when aren't at home when he wakes up in the morning he goes from room to room looking for them, and sighs when he finds they aren't there.

He knows all his basic commands and usually walks well on a leash. He loves being loved and is just the greatest companion. He needs weekly combing because of his thick undercoat...but he loves the combing. Raydar is the perfect family dog.

(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out the CHEW Adoption Application you can find on our website: chewdogrescue.org/Forms.html If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Raydar, a Gig Harbor Norwegian Elkhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Norwegian Elkhound for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Norwegian Elkhound dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Norwegian Elkhound breeders who help with Norwegian Elkhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
