Panda's Story...
11/2/14: Panda Deserves Your Consideration

Poor Panda is still in the boarding kennel and waiting for someone to take him home. His one basic need is having someone home for the better part of the day. He does not like being in a kennel …he will break out of his crate.

He is used to going on the furniture and sleeping in your bed. An adult only home would be preferred because he can be too exuberant for small children. He is a strong dog so a fenced yard would be a big plus for Panda. An EZ going canine companion and/or cat is fine but being the only “child” would suit Panda just fine. He LOVES attention!

Panda weighs in at 70lbs (kind of like a boxer ;-), but he is built like a little tank and is cute as can be. Here is another dog that just needs a break in life. Please consider giving Panda a chance.

09/07/14: PANDA LOST HIS FOREVER HOME

PANDA was returned to the kennel in late July of 2014 to no fault of his own. Panda did very well with the cat and dogs in his home, but a change in the household landed Panda back in a kennel. Please consider fostering or adoption this GREAT guy.

09/03/14: Panda is back and is available for ADOPTION!!!

11/12/13: Panda is so much more....

We are very lucky that one of our approved foster homes stepped up and offered to take Panda into foster to get him out of boarding. Panda wasn't doing well in boarding he was losing weight fast and his skin issue was flaring up again, Panda was down to 55lbs. Panda's foster day gave him a medicated bath when he got him home, did his ear treatment, and Panda was the perfect patient. Panda is a couch potato and just stares at you with his big eyes, he is a very mellow boy. Below is a update from his foster dad....

"Panda has been such a great boy, he is very laid back and I like that about him! Panda always has his eyes on me, I think he just doesn't want to be alone. Panda has been all over NY, NY with me and he loves all the people he meets, I will try and get a picture of him in Time Square! He does pull a bit when walking but I got a new harness and that really helps. Panda does well with other dogs, he is actually quite funny, when he sees a dog walking he will stop until the dog passes like he is giving them the right of way.

Panda doesn't like when I leave but everyday he getting better, I have a neighbor that comes over and brings her puppy to keep him company. I also hired a dog walker that gets him out mid day in case I am stuck at work a full 8 hours, Panda seems to be happier. I picked up some salmon grain free food and treats and continue to give him baths and his skin and ears look excellent, he has a beautiful coat.

I am glad to have him with me his is a easy boy, we are slowing trying to add some pounds pack onto him. Panda has started to come out of his shell and will play with toys and loves to roll around on his back in the bed. Whomever adopts this guy is going to be very lucky."

09/28/13: Panda Is A Gentle Loving Soul

Panda is the kind of guy that you want to bear hug! Panda was running out of time at a shelter that was at full capacity. We were receiving pleas to help a list of dogs who were on the desperate list. We could not resist Panda'a adorable mug nor another shelter dog named Stitch who we also decided to take into our Rescue program. Panda had severe skin issues that the shelter had started to treat with antibiotics and grain free food. He was starting to improve but he had a long way to go before getting better when we picked him up. His entire chest and front paws were flaming red and raw and grossly irritated. A skin scraping proved negative for mites so the decision was made to finish the course of antibiotics, continue feeding the grain free food and start him on Benadryl while we monitored his condition. Luckily, his skin has improved immensely and he is definitely on the mend.

Sad to say that we have no available foster homes for Panda and our only option was to place him in a boarding kennel where we still have several other dogs waiting for a foster or adoptive home. The minute Panda arrived at the boarding facility he became one of their favorites because he is so adorable and friendly. All of the dogs we have in boarding are desperate to be in a loving home so please consider taking Panda or one of the other dogs home. Panda is a gentle, loving guy who deserves a warm bed and soft couch to cuddle on! Don’t pass this guy by! Panda seems to get along great with other dogs and is a gentle loving soul.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Panda, a Sunderland Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Sunderland, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Sunderland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sunderland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sunderland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sunderland paves the way for another one to be saved.
