Dinah's Info...

Dinah's Story...
Dinah came to us pregnant and also with 2 youngsters in tow. Her kittens, Jip & Niabi were born two weeks later. A week after that an abandoned newborn was found and brought to us. We introduced him to Dinah and she adopted him as her own (that is him in the picture with Dinah). Dinah will wean her babies soon and then be spayed a couple of weeks later. She's been a great mom but now deserves a loving home where she is the one being taken care of. Dinah can be put on Hold with a completed adoption application and deposit. She is presently in foster care but if you'd like more information about this sweet cat, please call the Geneseo Humane Society shelter at (309) 944-4868.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dinah, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
