My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy is a 5 year old Black and White Labrador Retriever / Hound Mix. He is very energetic and playful, and is great with children and cats. He gets along with other non-aggressive dogs after having met them several times, but he does react aggressively upon initial greetings. Buddy should not be taken to a dog park or allowed to around other dogs that he is not familiar with, unless he has received more training and has learned how to listen better. He currently lives in a home with a female Black Lab, and they get along great! Sid, a male K9 Kindness foster dog, comes to visit Buddy frequently, and they love to run around the back yard! Buddys family gave him up to rescue because they did not feel that they had the time for him that he deserved. Buddy is looking for a forever home with a family that can give him a lot of play and love time. He enjoys taking walks, but needs more training with a leash because he gets too excited and forgets to follow directions. He is a quick learner, however, and knows how to sit and stay (most of the time!) He would benefit from obedience classes. His favorite things to do are play catch, fetch, tug of war and cuddle up with children to watch them play with their toys! Buddy does display some separation anxiety, but he goes into his kennel without hesitation. He has done well when left alone in the basement with his housemate. He is also potty trained and does not have any medical issues of which we or our veterinarians are aware. Buddy is a great dog for a family with children, and we hope that perfect family finds him! J
