My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little KokoPuff came to us because her owner lost her home. She has only known one owner in all of her 6 years, so she is a little confused, but adjusting well to her foster home. Koko is a 6 year old Miniature Poodle/Shih Tzu mix that her owner bought from a breeder. Her birthday is May, 2007. She has been very well cared for while her owner had her.

Koko is now spayed, dewormed, and up to date on all vaccines. She is heartworm negative and on flea and heartworm prevention. Koko is housebroken and good with other dogs, but is not afraid to let them know when she wants to be left alone. She has not been aggressive at all. She has not been around cats. She had been adopted by her owners as a puppy and grew up in a home with two children now ages 10 and 13.

Koko is a very special little girl. She is completely housebroken, is not at all destructive, has a pillow of her own that she sleeps on, but will join you on the bed if you invite her (though she rarely stays the night - she prefers her pillow on the floor!). She will sit on command and dances for treats. Like most small dogs, she shakes when she is afraid and she gets cold easily. She does not shed, and will need regular grooming to maintain her beautiful coat (the last picture shown is before her recent grooming). She loves a routine, she walks very well on a leash, and prefers a harness to being walked with her collar.

Koko weighs about 13 lbs. and is full grown. Being a small dog, care must be taken with children so they do not accidentally injure her as she is quite small. Koko adores her caretakers and wants to be wherever they are. She is getting along well with her canine foster sibling. Koko will stand on her hind legs when she wants a treat/food or when she wants to be picked up. She is a quiet little girl for the most part, but will alert when there is a stranger at the door.
