Please meet Oreo! Oreo is a pit mix, about 2 years old, male, and about 50 pounds. Oreo was rescued from a high intake/high kill shelter in Eastern rural KY.
Oreo is a super special guy! Not only is he a handsome chap, but he has an affectionate and fun loving personality. Oreo is a very adaptable dog that goes with flow. While playful, he is a well-mannered dog and is very smart. He aims to please his human and knows the commands ‘sit’, ‘down’, and will gladly go to his kennel when told to ‘kennel up.’
Oreo is fun-loving and absolutely loves other dogs! He doesn’t know a stranger…all dogs are his friends and he most enjoys play time with his canine buddies! Oreo also loves people; he is friends with men, women and children and doesn’t have a preference about who his human is, as long as they love him and give him attention! Oreo is curious about cats, but he doesn’t bother them and shows no aggression towards them.
Oreo is house broken, and while strong, is also leash trained. Some of his favorite hobbies are playing a game of fetch with his tennis ball and eating! He loves to eat and will eat each meal as if it is his last! He is not destructive in any way, is not a constant barker, and is not possessive of his toys. These are just a few of the wonderful attributes Oreo has!

Oreo has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and is current on heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. Oreo’s adoption donation is $125, which will help defray the cost of his vetting. TWHRA is open to ‘foster to adopt’ arrangements, as well as out of state adoptions within a reasonable distance.
