My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

6We are pleased to introduce Tigger! Tigger is about 3 years old, a male pit mix, about 50 pounds. Tigger had a home at one time, but his owner added a cat to the household and it was found that Tigger did not enjoy the company of cats. That’s how this sweet boy lost his home. But we at TWHRA knew Tigger was an awesome dog, so we decided to help him find a new home that he so very much deserves!

Tigger has a laid back personality and is mild mannered, but when he knows it’s time to play or go out in the yard for a run, he perks right up! Tigger is the perfect mix – he’s the type of dog that can be just as content lounging around the house with his human all day as he is running around and playing in the yard. He never jumps on people or in his kennel, is not destructive in any way, and is a perfect gentleman.

Tigger enjoys having other dogs around, but they are not his focus and he is not the type of dog that will initiate a game of chase or rough housing when out for play time in the yard with other dogs. Rather, Tigger likes dogs that are more like him….mild mannered, relaxed, and not overbearing or wild. After expending some energy running in the yard, Tigger will gladly go to his kennel when he’s told to ‘kennel up’. He views his kennel as his safe haven where he can rest and relax.

While Tigger enjoys the company of other dogs, he is the type that is more focused and concerned on what the humans are doing. Tigger is completely devoted to his caretaker. Even after being disappointed by his past owner, Tigger has not lost faith in the humans; he is grateful and appreciative for what he has in his life and for the love and attention he gets.

Tigger is housebroken and leash trained. He is a very intelligent dog and aims to please with positive reinforcement. To see additional photos of Tigger, please see "Our Adoptable Dogs" album on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheWayHomeRescueAlliance .

Tigger has been fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm tested, is currently on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and will be microchipped before going to his new home. Tigger’s adoption donation is $125, which will help defray the cost of his vetting. TWHRA is open to ‘foster to adopt’ arrangements, as well as out of state adoptions within a reasonable distance. For more information on Tigger, or for an adoption application, please email sarahthewayhome@gmail.com . Thanks for your interest in adding a wonderful dog like Tigger to your life!
