Firecracker's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Firecracker's Story...
I'm a sweet and spunky boy of about 14 weeks of age (12/8/2007). My foster Mom and Dad say that I am very intelligent and that I have typical puppy energy (I guess that means I like to run, jump, play, splash, gnaw, tug, chew, and chase!) I like to play with my foster dog siblings a lot - they are a fun bunch!

I'm learning how to walk on a leash and doing pretty well. I'm learning housetraining and basic manners, too.

Mom and Dad say I need to be adopted out to an individual or family who has experience with the Border Collie breed, specifically the intelligence, energy level and exercise requirements of a dog like me. If adopted to a family with children, I will need to be placed with those older than 12 years of age.

I'm neutered, up to date with vaccinations, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

If you'd like to meet me, please complete an online adoption application and my foster home will be happy to arrange a visit! Please allow up to 72 hours for someone from New Leash to respond to your application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Firecracker, a Wake Forest Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Wake Forest, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Wake Forest.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wake Forest already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wake Forest breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wake Forest paves the way for another one to be saved.
