Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Velvet is as soft as her name. She is a year old Chocolate Lab mix, weighing 51 lbs. In her silky soft coat, there is every shade of brown you can imagine. When the sun shines on her, she is remarkable. And Velvet’s temperament is equally soft and beautiful. She and her puppies were left at a very remote, rural shelter in Tennessee. After being rescued from the shelter, she spent a month in boarding, staying in a barn stall, not an ideal situation but there was nowhere else available to foster her. Velvet is now in a foster home in NE and through it all, she has remained happy and friendly and is very loyal to the people she loves. She enjoys every minute of family life, is completely housetrained and as expected, needs a little time to acclimate to new situations. She is guilty of jumping a little too high when excited; all four feet come right off the ground. She gulps down her food like it may not come again and doesn’t like to be left alone for extended amounts of time. But her most endearing qualities are how she loves to be close to people and will spend the night sleeping soundly with her head on your shoulder, is able to walk off-leash through the trails because she wouldn’t dream of leaving you, and gets along with any other dog because she loves to have friends. Velvet has been moved around more than any dog should be lately, but we are confident that this last move will be her happily ever after. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
