My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Genji (gehn-G), which I believe means "new beginning" according to one of our volunteers, is the 1 1/2 year old big dark Cream/dilute Red male Shiba Inu that we pulled from the puppy mill auction at the beginning of September. As you can see Genji is settling in nicely. He is super sweet with people, even children, but may knock kids over just because he wants to climb up them to say hi. He is good with dogs and fairly good with cats, too. He currently lives in a home with 6 foot wood fencing so not sure how he would do with anything shorter. He cannot be in an apartment, at least not yet, as he howls when crated, which we are working on. We highly recommend crating him with his meal both at night and when you leave for work to prevent any destructive behaviors as he is a teenager and a dog who never lived his early years in a home so this is like puppyhood but in an adult dog.

Genji's favorite things are belly rubs, spending time with his people and playing, playing, playing, so he would prefer a home with another playful dog or two and not a lot of alone time every day.

Genji's fee is $350.00 which includes his neuter, microchip, deworming, distemper and rabies vaccinations and a 6 week professional training class at an approved location local to the adopter.
