Odette is a four-year-old, 13 pound Dachshund or Dachshund mix rescued from the Ramona Animal Shelter on her last day. She is a delightfully spunky, sweet, loving, affectionate, happy, calm, and very people-oriented gal. I love how she just trots along bipping and bobbing with her little legs rapidly traveling along, always wagging her tail vigorously. Odette is very potty-trained (however potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and she knows how to go in and out of the dog door. She is also crate-trained though she probably does not much need a crate. Yet and still, this is a rescue, so Odette sleeps quietly in her crate during the night, enjoying a rawhide chip as a bedtime snack. During the day, her favorite thing to do is to hang out with me, laying on a pet bed near where I am working at the computer. Odette likes to hang out with her people.
Odette is great when she meets new folks. She lets strangers pet her and greet her. She is so well behaved each time I take her to the vet or somewhere in public. She also walks great on the leash. Odette lives in a larger pack of dogs and gets along great with the dog pack, both large and small. Every now and then, she gets a little bit bossy with another dog, but this does not bother me as I just yell at her to knock it off and she readily obeys. Odette can easily be placed as an only dog in the home, as long as she can spend time being the companion to her humans and be included in walks and occasionally going places in the car, etc. Odette would make for a GREAT companion dog! I consider Odette to be an EASY dog. She also does not destroy things, or dig, or bark unless to alert. I trust her in my home when I leave, not crated.
Odette is spayed, fully vaccinated including rabies, de-wormed and micro-chipped. If you are looking for a nice, loving, calm companion please consider Odette!
