Meet Akira, a 12 week old hound/terrier mix who currently weighs about 10 pounds. He came to us from an over-crowded shelter in Kentucky, along with several other pups who might be his siblings. He has a very pretty white coat with tan spots. In fact, he's so pretty the shelter gave him a girl's name!

Akira is an outgoing, friendly pup who literally becomes putty in your arms, he loves to be held and cuddled so much! He is well socialized and plays nicely with his two siblings, although he is twice their size.

Since he's still young, Akira needs a family where someone is home part or all day to get him house-trained, and keep him exercised and well-socialized.

You can meet Akira at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750 www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you may want to adopt him on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.

Akira's adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, flea & tick preventative, deworming, microchip and neuter.
