River's Story...
River is a very handsome, affectionate kitty who loves being with his people. His gentle head butts serve a dual purpose: saying hello and soliciting petting. River is a certified lap warmer and will make himself at home in an empty lap at his first opportunity. River reciprocates your affection with occasional love bites and with lots of nose nuzzles. Nothing like having a kitty enthusiastically nose nuzzling you; it is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and make you laugh!

River enjoys playing with wand toys although one word of warning…River gets a little nervous and will make the strategic decision to retreat if you go crazy waving the feather wand around in his face. He seems to enjoy feather wands more if they flutter around slowly just out of range from his paws. River is good with other friendly kitties and enjoys their companionship.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

River, a Phoenix Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
