My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buttercup was the most amazing mother of 13 puppies. The puppies have now all been adopted and this sweet girl is now ready for her chance at new life. She is a pretty girl, looks like a black lab with short legs! She loves to go for walks, loves people, and is social with other dogs. She did a fabulous job with her family, now she's ready to be part of yours!


Del Norte County Animal Control is located in rural Crescent City, CA (a tiny coastal city on the OR/CA border). We have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t come outside and play. Please consider making a difference in a dog’s life and adopt from our shelter!

We are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm.
We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Adoption fees are between $15 - $95 depending on if the dog has been previously fixed and if you are adopting in Del Norte County or out of the county.
