Sissy's Story...
AARF only adopts in the Richmond, VA area.

BREED: Small Beagle

SEX: Female

COLOR: Tri color, black, white, tan

CHARACTERTICS: very friendly, playful, very intelligent

We are Sassy and Sissy. We are two of a litter of 6 beagle puppies. All of us are females.

My sister and I are small beagles, we will be about 20 pounds when full grown. Right now we are 9 weeks old.

We are almost potty trained and Sassy knows how to use a doggy door. I, Sissy, am a little afraid of it yet.

We love to play outside with the big hounds at our foster house. We run and bark and dig with them. It is so much fun!!!

My foster mom says we are very smart and learn things quickly. We still need some more puppy shots but we are ready to find our new forever home.

Sassy is bigger than me. I am her sister, therefore the name, Sissy. It is not because I am a sissy!!!! I am a beagle and proud of it.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sissy, a Richmond Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Beagle puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
