Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, I'm Lorissa. Isn’t that a lovely name? It means “cheerful." I'm not sure it's easy to be cheerful living in a shelter but I'm a happy, mellow cat. One day, when I have a home and a family of my own, I know I will be a cheerful girl. And I know that I will be a great companion who will make you smile and feel cheer inside.
I came to MaxFund as a stray kitten. That was in 2006! Somehow I got passed over for the other kittens and grew up here. Why did I never find a home? Well I am shy and quiet. I am also so used to rejection that I don't even try to approach adopters. I find it's better to reject them than have them reject me, so I usually hang out in the cat trees and cubbyholes where no one sees me. It’s not that I don’t like people; it’s just that I don't try. But if you approach me, I am friendly and enjoy petting. I'm a calm, mellow cat that gets along with anyone. I'm a gentle girl and I just know that in a home, I will really reach my potential. I really warm up to people that are gentle and patient with me. I have boundless potential for love; I just need someone to love me back with all of their heart. Is that someone you?
I get along well with other cats, especially timid cats. I probably should not live with dogs or toddlers. The volunteers say they will miss me when (if!) I ever get a home. But they will be happy to say goodbye because they know I will blossom and be so delighted to be in my own home. Do come to the shelter and get to know me. I may be a late bloomer, but that just means that I have more love saved up for you!! I can’t wait to meet you and I hope to see you very soon.
