My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Austin recently came to us with some medical issues. He is only 1, so never raced. Austin is in foster and is doing well with the cat and the other dogs.

I'm a big puppy. I never raced because I wasn't feeling very good. The doctors are running all kinds of tests. I got to spend an entire week as "office dog" at Sabino Veterinary Care. They let me walk around the clinic whenever I wanted and one of the technicians even napped with me. I'm already starting to feel better, so I should be ready for a forever home in a few weeks.

FOSTER UPDATE:

Austin has gained fifteen pounds and his health has vastly improved. He needs to undergo one more set of tests in February, but based on his behavior, he is feeling GREAT.

Austin loves to play with squeaky toys and run around the dog park. He walks well on a leash and is house trained. In the house, he acts like a puppy and wants to mouth or play with everything including clothes and furniture. As a result, he needs to be supervised. Austin loves people and follows his foster family around the house. He will be a great, loving companion.

Austin shows some interest in the kitty but responds to verbal correction to leave her alone. He is also living with a variety of medium to large dogs, with no issues. Austin does likes to follow or chase the neighbors beagle mix, so we're not sure he will be small dog tolerant, especially if the small dog is active.
