My name is Brett and I am a 3 year old neutered male Poodle who came to NBS Animal Rescue when I was found as a stray in Allegan, Michigan. The nice folks at the Allegan shelter contacted my new friends at NBSAR and asked them to help find me a loving fur-ever home.
I had a pretty sad past before coming to NBS Animal Rescue. I came in with a very long and severely matted coat with dirt, sticks, burrs, and all sorts of nasty stuff stuck in my fur. I had fleas everywhere that were making me so itchy I was scratching my skin raw. Thanks to my Foster Parents they helped me get a wonderful spa day at the groomer, took me to the doggy doctor to get some medicine for my itchy skin, and I'm happy to report that not only am I feeling much better but I look ADORABLE too!! Those groomers and doggy doctors that NBS works with are miracle workers I tell ya!
Aside from being devastatingly adorable, incredibly loving and super sweet, I do have a medical condition that I was born with called Hydrocephalus. The doggy doctor said I was born with it, having extra fluid around my brain. I'm also what humans would consider "legally" deaf and blind. I can see some things and I can hear some tones, just not everything. That doesn't stop me though from being a happy go lucky wonderful dog!! Aside from my medical condition, I walk wonderfully on a leash, trotting right beside you all the way! I am doing fantastic with potty training, am an expert at crate training, I am a world class snuggler and LOVE to spend time on your lap and in your arms, and I know how to sit! People sometimes read that I was born a bit differently than most dogs and they stop reading my story and go click on another doggy's picture....that makes me and my foster parents so very sad as I really am a WONDERFUL dog who would make a quiet family or an older person/couple a fantastic companion.
My adoption includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.
