My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya everybody! It's really nice to meet you!

My name is Ross and I’m one of four, 10 month old poodle/bishon mixes that were pulled from Allegan County Shelter by one of my newest, and best friends from NBS Animal Rescue. We were all so – oh so dirty, matted, flea-covered and kinda stinky… and very shy.Our coats where very over grown and matted so badly that the doggy doctor had to help shave our tiny bodies when we were under anesthesia for our "fixing" surgeries so we wouldn't be in pain when they helped remove our matted fur. My brothers and sisters and I came from what the folks at the shelter called a "Hoarding house." It was really scary there and we weren't given the best of care, love, nutrition, or attention. When the doggy police came to our home and took us out of our cage we went to the nice people at Allegan Animal Shelter where they contacted the NBS volunteers to help find us a fur-ever home. It was pretty scary at the shelter, and it is so overwhelming to not know where you are going to end up.

Lucky for me and my brothers and sisters – NBS Animal Rescue came in and has helped us get sponsors to help with our grooming, and they made sure we all have our shots, are Heartworm negative, are flea-tick-free, and are fixed! How great is that!? Now I’m out on the greatest adventure, ever!

I’m a very playful, silly fella – looking for a great home! I’m always ready to play and bounce around the house and outside, looking for new adventures to have. I’ve been doing super good with going potty outside, and I even know how to sit –IF you’ve got treats. : ) I love going for walks, wrestling stuffed animals and seeking out affection. My favorite kind of day is one where I get to play ALL day, chase toys – and then snuggle up for ear scratches and belly rubs. That is just the BEST! My friends at NBS think I’m very entertaining, as I’m a little clumsy – although it doesn't stop me from running full speed around the yard! There is just so much to sniff out and play with, I just wanna experience all of the great things life has to offer. I wasn't sure if I’d find a family, or have a chance to know what life could be like out of the shelter.

I’m ready to find a new home where I’ll be loved, played with, walked and snuggled. I have so much love to give, I sure hope I can find a family to share it all with. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting me (or if you just like my tie, that works too hee hee) please help by sharing my photo and information – thanks everybody!

If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have.

You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
