Meet Shatzi! (A German term of endearment for sweetheart). He was rescued from a shelter after being brought in by animal contro with his collar embedded in his neck. Apparently his previous owners dint know that puppies grow fast and never checked to see if his collar was too tight. The vet had to surgically remove his collar and now he is all well and ready to find a family that will pay better attention to him and love him. He is just about a year old, mostly housetrained, cratetrained, great with other dogs, loves to play but also loves to snuggle on the couch with you. He enjoys toys, and would be a great running buddy. He is very smart and already knows commands " Sit", and "shake" and will lay down with persuasion. He would be fine with kids over 10( no little ones because he will be big and knock them down unintentionally). If you are interested in the gorgeous boy, please let us know.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Schatzi, a Brattleboro German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Brattleboro, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Brattleboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brattleboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brattleboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brattleboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
