Otis's Story...
Note: This sensitive, gorgeous boy has become very stressed by the kennel life.
We need to find a foster or adoptive home for him ASAP. Otherwise, sadly, he will
be euthanized to end his suffering.

This boy is as sweet is he is handsome. With his grey brindle and white coat,
Otis never fails to turn heads in the nearby park when he is out on his
walks. He will gladly stop to meet you, and if you offer it (he is too much of a gentleman
to ask for it), will soak up the loving attention, which he accepts graciously
and without assertively prompting you for more.

A volunteer has been taking Otis to a weekly training class and he reports
that Otis has made great progess and is a smart pooch! Otis seems quite keen
to meet fellow female canines, but we have yet to test him with males.
For now, we know he is a "soft-spoken" love-bug who sits
quietly in his kennel waiting for a walk (or even better, a home),
while others bark and clamor around him.

Act quickly to adopt Otis. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Otis, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
