Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Callie, an adorable 11 week old mixed breed who currently weighs about 12 pounds. Her mom we know is a Catahoula type, and Callie was the runt of the litter. Father is unknown. We believe she will ultimately grow to a medium size, but her adopter must be willing to take pot luck as far as her ultimate size and looks.
Callie is a very sweet, a little shy, and might do best as the center of attention. She is well on her way to being house-trained, just needs to be kept on a regular schedule. Callie is good with kids but is still at the puppy chewing stage, so children should be old enough to be able to know how to handle that. Callie appears to be very active, smart and independent, so is probably not a dog for novice dog owners. She will need lots of activity to keep her busy and focused, and, as with all puppies, she will need a family that will take immediate charge and lay down rules - else, Callie will make up her own (which may not be what you had in mind!)
Since she's still very young, Callie needs a family where someone is home part or all day to attend to her house-training and obedience training, and keep her exercised and well-socialized.
You can meet Callie at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week. (847-251-6750 www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although you may want to adopt her on the spot, please know that you will have to go through the application process first.
Callie's adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, flea & tick preventative, deworming, microchip and spay.
