Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ADOPT ONLY WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA
This poor sweet boy wound up in a shelter because his owner's health issues prevented him from caring for Kona properly.
Kona is a big, strong Husky boy who needs some work walking on lead but is otherwise well mannered and previously well cared for. He knows several commands such as sit, down, stay, no, etc. and takes correction well. He also gets along well with other dogs. Cats are an unknown so caution is advised.
Kona has indications of a very common characteristic in Huskies - that of being an escape artist. He can even chew his way out of a harness. He is also quite smart in that he has figured out how to work levers on a door handle. Child locks or rounded knobs on doors would be highly recommended.
Kona has not shown himself to be destructive so does not need to be crated when left alone, but stay alert for any way he could find as an escape route. He is housebroken and lets you know when he needs to go out.
He is very affectionate and social with humans; preferring their company rather than being left alone. Who wouldn't want Husky hugs from such a lovable boy?
Kona is healthy, Heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. Through no fault of his own he needs, and is deserving of, a forever home. All he asks is for the chance to show you true companionship. He will make you happy for years to come so fill out an adoption application on our web site, www.siberrescue.com, today.
