My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This young girl was saved by the Grace of God. Her owners contacted Grace Acosta when she was only 11 months old. Athena could barely walk and was in constant pain. The pictures showing her roached back tells us of the pain she feeling.

The owners could not afford hip surgery. Athena neededs both sides of her hips done.

Grace took the girl in and drove her to Mueller Animal Hospital for surgery. Both hips were done and Grace drove her back to her home in Alachua, FL.

Athena had to walked, exercise and it took a long time for this girl to completely recover from surgery and she is NOW FREE OF PAIN. Athena, runs, jumps and is a very happy soul. She will never suffer from hip pain ever again!

She is one of the sweetest dogs that come into rescue. She gets along fine with other dogs and loves her buddy, a 13 pound rescue terrier named Woody.
