Maxine's Story...
From Maxine's foster mom - Maxine is a 3lb Chihuahua who was found fighting for her life in a swimming pool. She was very traumatized and it took her awhile to trust people again. However, now she rules the house and has turned into a real sweetie. Maxine is not a morning dog – she likes to sleep in and get her breakfast late. She dislikes cold weather so she wears a sweater when it’s chilly outside. Maxine is OK with children but given her size she’d probably do better in a home with adults. Maxine is a cuddler and loves to sit on my lap to watch TV. She’s about 8 years old but has a lot of spunk. I could not believe that she figured out the doggie doors and can go in and out by herself. Maxine is house-trained and crate trained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxine, a Plano Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Plano, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Plano.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Plano already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Plano breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Plano paves the way for another one to be saved.
