My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pawsome came in as a stray kitten with an estimated birth date of 8/13/13. She is shy around new people, but comes out to play very quickly once the visitors get the DaBird toy going! Pawsome can be held and cuddled, and is very affectionate toward the volunteers she is used to... but if you drop something loud, she is off like a shot underneath or into the nearest hiding spot! Pawsome would appreciate a home where things are generally calm, and where her new people can continue her socialization. She isn't likely to be the sort of "ambassador cat" that will greet all the visitors to the home... but will be a wonderful and devoted companion to the people who choose to make her family.

We'd love to see all kittens go to homes that have another young, playful kitten, or to send 2 of them out as a pair, but do not require pair adoptions. If you prefer to adopt just one, and you don't have a similarly aged kitten at home already, please read our information on Single Kitten Syndrome:

http://forgetmenotshelter.org/blog/single-kitten-syndrome

Then, when you apply for a single kitten, please let us know in the "Comments" field how you plan to deal with the "kitten crazies."

All kittens arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and with all age-appropriate vaccinations; most will need one or two booster vaccinations after arrival, and rabies vaccination between 4-6 months of age. Adoption fee for Pawsome is suggested minimum $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
