Oceanus's Story...
Oceanus is named after the Greek God of the World Ocean, an enormous river circling the world. Oceanus is a big boy, but he is very soft and gentle. He walks well on a leash and enjoys his time with humans. He and his brother, Atlas, were found as strays together; Atlas has been adopted and now it is Oceanus turn. He is a handsome boy and would love for someone to take walks with, brush him, and be his forever family.

Oceanus' adoption fee is $175; he is microchipped, altered, and up to date on vaccines. Some of our pets are in foster care. If you are interested in a specific pet, please contact the shelter at 618-282-7387 to arrange a meeting.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oceanus, a Columbia German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Columbia, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
