Toby is an adorable 2 year old, 10 pound, white male Shih Tzu mix. He loves to play with toys, go for walks, and romp in the yard with the other small dogs in his foster home. He is very playful and initiates the other dogs to play and gently wrestle with him. Toby needs a forever home with another young dog who likes to play. He is very smart and learns quickly. He would love his person to work with him and help him learn more. He already knows sit, shake, and come. He has the sweetest soft brown eyes that will melt your heart. He wants to be held and cuddled. He wants a home where he can sleep in the bed with his person. He hopes that the person that adopts him is soft spoken and patient and that they can spend lots of time together. Toby’s foster mom is pretty sure he is part cat/part monkey/part deer. He is very athletic. He jumps effortlessly over gates and fences. Flying up onto or over things is natural for this little boy. Toby could be a good candidate for a doggie agility class. Toby has come a long way since he was rescued from a puppy mill, but he still has many fears. He needs someone willing to continue working with him on his socialization and house training skills. Toby would prefer a family without children. He is a happy and healthy boy - neutered, dental done, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. His foster mom would like his new home to be within 50 miles of the Twin Cities and also for his family to bring him to the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion on the third Saturday in June each year. Toby’s adoption fee is $370.00 plus sales tax.
