My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merry is just like her name, and it's hard to believe where she came from. Merry was one of many dogs that were taken from what must have been a backyard breeder. Her physical condition was so sad, yet her spirit and love for people had not been broken. And to top it all off, she had two very young pups she was still taking care of.

Merry has made an amazing turn-around physically. She is healthy and even happier than ever. She is definitely retriever - she loves to retrieve balls and if there is no one to throw it for her she'll do it for herself. However, Merry also knows how to "chillax" when the time is right. She enjoys lying in a bed in our family room and simply being with us. She is not a barker at all, though she will carry on a great conversation with you (the Border Collie in her probably). We're pretty sure we can hear her saying "thank you."

Now that her pups are ready to find new homes, Merry is ready to make a family very lucky to welcome her into their family

Merry is around 40 - 45 pounds right now, and as best we can tell, she is around two years old. She walks well on lead and loves having a crate to call her very own where she sleeps all night long without a peep.

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting this beautiful soul, please complete and submit the application found under "Resources" on our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org. You will also need to submit pictures of your yard, making sure we can see your fence line. Or you can email us at throwmeabonerescue@gmail.com for the application in a different form.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed, de-flea'd, is up to date on shots, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a leash & collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
