My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brook is no greyhound. That much is clear just from a glance at this dog who looks like she has been chiseled from a boulder. With her slate-gray fur and a neck like a stone pillar, Brook looks like she could pull a freight train. And maybe she could. But honestly, she would much rather be throwing herself into your lap, wriggling around on her back for belly rubs, or tearing up the yard with some canine friends and a tennis ball.

Brook was rescued off of the Meadowbrook Parkway (hence her name) by a kind and dedicated volunteer. She was in a foster home for over a month with two other female pit mixes, and she adored them! Yet, sadly, due to unforseen circumstances, she had to come back to the shelter. And while she certainly doesn't seem to mind being surrounded by people who love her, she would so much rather have a home. She is a lovely, sweet, playful girl. So send us an email at adopt@bobbicares.org, or better yet, come meet her at our Freeport location (2 Rider Place, Freeport NY. 516-378-4340). You'll see why you can never judge a Brook by her cover.
