MR. SCHNITZEL. Mr. Schnitzel is 23 months old He is a miniature dachshund with a sweet personality. He has been well cared for. He is crate trained during the day and. He is up to date on all vaccines and has been neutered. He is a snuggly dog and would make a lovely lap dog. He will walk on a leash and loves to chase balls. He gets along well with our other dog and plays with the cat too. He has no health problems. Mr. S could benefit from puppy training, but is plenty smart and ready to learn. Like all young dachshunds, needs someone around to be sure he gets the attention and guidance he needs.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
