My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Vida – Vida was vetted by Barrio Dogs last fall during FixIt 2012. In October 2013 we received a call that Vida’s luck had turned and she was now in the Galveston County Humane Society and would be euthanized soon. We contacted the original owner who told us she had placed Vida in a new home by an ad “free to a good home”. She could not remember who she gave her to and could not help Vida out of her death sentence. Barrio Dogs does not pull from kill shelters; our focus is street dogs in our East End neighborhood. However, we could not leave Vida behind. The kind worker at the Galveston County Humane Society was very sincere in wanting to help and pulled Vida and transported her to Houston. While Vida is now safe, unfortunately she had to go into boarding.

Vida is a sweet girl and so happy to be alive. The scar on her head is noted in the vet records from last year and is from a prior injury. Barrio Dogs has taken in way so many rescues lately and we are really trying to stay focused on our Community Outreach Programs. Can someone possibly foster this sweet girl and let her enjoy her new life? If you can help please email tauna@barriodogs.org. If you can’t foster, can you help with a small donation for all our vetting recently? http://www.barriodogs.org/donations.html
