My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is a very sweet girl. She loves to play, and loves to cuddle. She's the kind of dog who will fall asleep beside you after a long day at work. That being said, she also has crazy outbursts of energy and is happiest running through the park with the squirrels. She is very gentle when you give her treats, and loves being around people. Lucy is a young dog approximately 1 1/2 years old and is just waiting for the right family to find her. She weighs 50 lbs.

Here is what else her foster family had to say:

Lucy is very friendly, and loves everyone and loves attention. She's very outgoing. She has shown no shyness or aggression with anyone. Lucy enjoys the company of cats. She plays and chases my kitten around the house, but leaves my older cat alone. I have brought Lucy around dogs, and she is fine with them as well. All in all, she's a happy girl and is great with everyone.

Lucy loves to go for walks in the park, chase squirrels, play tug of war with her toy rope, and sprawl out on my couch. She has a more moderate level of energy, but she does get bursts of puppy energy. She barely sheds. For the most part, Lucy does not bark at all except when you leave her home alone. She hates to be in the crate and as I only put her in there when I go out, she will bark.

When Lucy first came to me, you could see her ribs and she barely ate. Now she's a little piggy ( which is a great thing) and she is slowly gaining some weight. She has that general playful puppy personality. Lucy has a bit of a begging problem with guests, but she understands the word no, and that helps her stop. It's a learning process. She knows sit, lay down, up, come, in (we have elevators), drop it/let go. She also knows questions: Do you have to go pee? Where's your toy? We are still working on "stay". Lucy is still on her way, but is getting a lot better in regard to house training. Right now, she will sit in front of you and stare at you until you stand up, then she will walk towards the door. That is her only signal. There has been a lot of progress with leash training. She's getting a lot better, and is learning "heal". When you call her name she comes right back. She listens well. Lucy loves the car. She goes for car rides almost every day.

Lucy needs a family situation. Someone that will always be around, and people who will love her, and can put fourth the effort to continue teaching her right from wrong.

If you would like to make Lucy part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
