My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAX HAS TO BE YOUR HEART-THROB and he will take nothing less. He is the consummate boss cat and must be an only cat. And he will make it worth your while!

MAX is what you call a moosh. Someone who always wants to be there, at the computer, on the phone, lounging in your lap, or sleeping ON you in bed. He takes being stroked any way -- slow and soft, or fast and hard. And he lacks the impulse common in cats to bite or grab the hand. He is an easy cat to manage -- he eats anything, takes his meds no problem (if needed), has perfect litter box manners. So what's the catch?

Max is vocal. He tells you about it whether you want to hear it or not. And if he feels neglected, he can throw tantrums of desperate vocalizing (he even sounds like an elephant when he trumpets). He is a high-energy cat and requires lots of activity to avoid boredom. Clearly, he needs to belong to someone who is around a lot, and who has attention to spare for what Max needs and what Max wants.

Without the requisite stimulation, or perhaps a screened porch to tune into the smells and sounds of the outdoors, or sufficient exercise to tire him out, Max can be impossible to live with. Or he will be your best buddy -- intractable, needy, and the most loving and lovable cat you will ever know.
