  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
STELLA is a beautiful 3 year old Blue Tick Coonhound mix. Stella was rescued back in 2013 from a man who had her in a store parking lot trying to give her and her two sisters away. The temps that day were in the high 90's and she was sitting in the back of a truck in the direct sunlight ALL day. Talk about a Hot Tin Roof! Her sisters were adopted as puppies, but Stella was not and she has been in the rescue's care for over 2 years now. It is certainly Stella's turn to find her forever home. Stella has a high energy level and loves to run and play. She does well with other dogs her size or larger but does not need to be around smaller or timid dogs. She walks well on leash but needs work on house training. She does well with crate training and crates when told to do so. Stella needs lots of room to run and someone who is willing to exercise her daily. She is very smart and if someone is willing to work with her, she will learn quickly. She is up-to-date with vaccinations and spayed. She is HW negative. Stella weighs 48 pounds. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Stella if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue to cover the cost of her veterinary care and spay surgery.

Our Adoption Process...

In general, there is an adoption fee of $200 which helps to cover the cost of basic veterinary care, age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tests, spay or neuter and microchip. If a dog has required medical care above and beyond the norm, the adoption fee could be higher. Fees are sometimes lower for certain dogs, so please inquire. If we are unable to arrange for volunteer transport for adoptions outside our area, it may be necessary for us to arrange for paid transport at a cost of approximately $140. Completion of an adoption application as well as a veterinarian reference is required. Our online adoption application can be found at www.adoptapet.com/TnDiamonds-in-the-Ruff/adoption-application/. We also have a paper application which you can obtain by emailing donnadeaner@gmail.com or call 330-760-2148 or 731-446-4013. Thanks for your interest in adopting a Diamonds Dog!
