My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dirks came to us as a stray and he is a goofy guy and quite loving. He is neutered, immunizations up to date and dentistry has just been done. He is estimated to be about 8-9 years old. Dirks has almost instant rapport with women but with men he's a bit more choosy. . Dirks is a strange little guy but can be very lovable once he knows you. He needs a lot of socialization to show him that he doesn’t have to be afraid of people. He will growl at people he doesn’t know [the mean Dirks face picture] and WILL bite if pushed….but at the same time you can tell he’s afraid as the whites of his eyes turn red meaning his blood pressure is going up – and if he gets anxious or too stressed, he’ll poop! To be groomed, he has to be given some oral sedatives from the vet and THEN he can be groomed. . In the last year he has developed an allergy which comes out in the form of yeast on his skin. He needs frequent baths for it and we are trying him on raw dog food at this time which seems to be helping greatly. He needs someone to be strict with his housetraining which needs a lot of work. He loves rides in the car but doesn’t care much for going for walks. On the positive side of him, he loves and I mean LOVES to be loved. His favourite time is to be held and cuddled after a bath especially or just even told he’s a good boy. He is a clown too and has me laughing quite a bit. His favourite toy is a rubber dog bowling pin that he carries everywhere. When he wants your attention he makes a noise like a gremlin that’s really cute. In a nutshell, this little guy just needs someone that understands him and once he knows he’s trained you, he’ll be the best dog ever.

His adoption fee is $350.
